My philosophy

My core training and main approach is in Gestalt.

The gestalt approach focuses on the ‘here and now’ (the present) and through this, the client gains awareness and insight into his/her own processes/ways of being. By being present, we attend to what is needed in the moment rather than ruminating about the past and worrying about the future. Many of us repeat patterns that keep us from moving forward in our lives creating a sense of ‘stuckness’. Have you ever noticed repeating patterns in your life?

For some people, gaining awareness can enable them to change their attitude or approach to a situation, relationship or events in the past.  This can bring about a sense of peace and acceptance. Gestalt is a rich therapy and embraces diversity recognising that each individual is unique based on their experiences in life such as culture, race, gender, sexual identity, religion, family and social backgrounds.  We are all unique, we are all different. Gestalt is a person centred approach.

I also have experience in Mindfulness, CBT, ACT, Person Centred, Psychodynamic
